There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just across the dividing line from nearby Thailand, in which gambling den gambling is banned. Eight gambling halls are situated in a generally tiny space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. The Naga casino never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, 4 tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon followed. There are 150 slot machines and five tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slot machines and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slots and 96 table games, including 87 punto banco (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and sixty six of the common tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight casinos in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a multinational resort and hotel compound that contains numerous amenities on top of the gambling den, which provides 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and eighty eight gaming tables.
