There is an appealing history to the Cambodia gambling halls that sit just over the border from nearby Thailand, in which gambling den wagering is prohibited. Eight casinos are anchored in a relatively small area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling halls is in a prime area, a 3 to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest betting locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing income gained from the casinos ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a number of limitations constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; although, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and though visas are supposedly required to pass, there are means around this, as is correct of most border crossings.
The 1st Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored boat gambling hall, contains one hundred and fifty slots and 60 table games. The Naga casino is open all hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, 4 tables of 21, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

A total of 150 one armed bandits and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slot machines and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and 96 gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 one armed bandits and 66 of the familiar gaming tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and ninety seven games.
